St. Mary's School
Second Term Report
01-09-2006 to 31-12-06)
It is with a sense of achievement and fulfillment that this second term report is submitted.
The second term started during the first week of September 2006. Attendance of children in the UKG, LKG and the Creche were normal and the school timings and other practices were being followed by the staff and the children. They observed the rules and the wearing of the uniforms by the children. Regular classes were continued for writing, reading, singing and dancing.
Medical Camp: On October 8th, we conducted the medical camp for the benefit of the children and the mothers. Two medicinal practitioners examined the children and the mothers. They supplied medicines in deserving cases. We take this opportunity to express our thanks to the Lions Club of Indiranagar as the camp was conducted under its auspices and was attended by the President, Mr. George Samuel and the committee members.
Christmas Celebration: At the start of the second term itself we began giving practices to the children for various kinds of performances by them. The nativity scene provided by the children and their singing and dancing were appreciated very much by the large audience, including the children's mothers, who had participated in the Christmas celebration meeting held on 17th December 2006. Out of 53 children, 46 had participated in the programmes. The function was a grand success and the efforts put in the by the teachers were fulfilled. At the function, we gave one set of uniforms and one sweater to each child.
Mothers Meeting: These were being conducted regularly during each month and it gave an opportunity for the management, the teachers and the mothers of the children to interact and express their views freely and frankly, concerning the educational programme and other welfare measures.
Exams: We conducted second term exams from the 8th to the 11th of January 2007. On the 8th, we had English, 9th Maths, 10th General Knowledge and Rhymes and on the 11th Kannada. Children did a good work and we are happy about that.
Picnic & Sport: It has been arranged to take the children for a picnic to the Ecumenical Christian Centre, Whitefield on the 12th January 2007 and to conduct the children's sports there itself on the day.
Second Medical Camp: As we give equal importance to the growth of mid and body of each child at the young age, it is our custom and practice to conduct Medical Camp at our premises periodically and one such camp was conducted recently on 10th February 2007. Usually at these camps the state of health of the children are being examined by qualified doctors and paramedical staff. It was possible to hold the medical camp on 10-02-07 by the kind assistance provided by Lions Club of Indiranagar through its President, Mr. George Samuel. He has made arrangements with the nearby Lions Seva Hospital to depute one of its doctors, along with her assistant to examine the children, who were brought by their mothers for the purpose. The camp which started at 10.30 AM continued till 12 PM and 40 children were examined on the day. As a result of the examination, needy children were given tonics and required medicines.
